Memberships & Trade Ins

100% of our membership fees go towards paying our workers liveable wages. If you would like to trade in books for credit, you must have a membership.

Each month we need to sell about 2000 books in order to keep our doors open and pay our bills. Please consider a yearly membership to help us continue to do the work we do!

Membership FAQ:

Why do we have a membership program?

Our store is mission and community based which drives our staff to work hard. The book industry sets their prices by printing the purchase price directly on the book which makes it difficult to increase prices to make sure everyone who works at White Rose Books & More is making a livable wage. We have to sell nearly 2000 books a month just to keep our doors open, but that minimum doesn't give us any wiggle room to increase wages. Our memberships go directly into the pockets of our staff.

What does the trade in percentage mean and how does the trade in program work?

You must be a member of any tier to trade in gently used, like new books to us. You can bring us 1 tote bag of books at a time on Tuesdays through Fridays. We cannot accept trade ins on Saturdays as this is our busiest day of the week. Books must be in like new condition. We do not accept books over 15 years old, text books, activity books, coloring books, or oversized books. Non-fiction must have been published in the last 10 years and nonfiction with a science focus must have been published in the last 5 years. When you bring us books to trade in, we give you a percentage of the cover price back as credit in the store. This can be used that same day or we can add it to a gift card for you to use at a later date.

What is the punch card?

Members with punch card in their tier will always have access to our punch program. You will receive your first card at the time of sign up for our membership program. for every $10 you spend in store you will receive one punch. After 10 punches, you card will be full and you will have a $10 credit to spend on your next visit.
